Pioneer Your Adventure
Eight pioneers. Eight films. Choose your adventure.
OVERLANDER. PHOTOGRAPHER. MUM.
Meet Bel Jones
Bel Jones embodies the spirit of a true pioneer: seamlessly blending the worlds of adventure and parenting, all while capturing the essence of both through her lens.
Bel’s Adventure
Bel loves nothing more than a weekend away camping with the kids and she has her Pioneer set up perfected. From her awning and lighting arrangement, to where she's strategically placed her Maxtrax and swag, Bel's ready to hit the road with her cubs at any moment!
"The main thing is just to enjoy each day in the things that I do. Whether it is being the mum, the professional, the adventurer, or just myself."
"In the last 4 or 5 years I've focused on going back to my roots of four-wheel-driving and exploring the outdoors - of course and then there's the skiing, snowboarding, hiking, hunting, fishing. Having the right knowledge and skills is an invaluable skill - especially when bringing kids into that environment."
"Since having kids I have a strong sense of keeping us safe, and having the right gear no matter what the weather throws at us. I'm really limited by space so being able to mount and load things on top and change those out based on what I'm doing is awesome."
MOUNTAIN BIKER & MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Meet Ollie Lynch
From a young age, Ollie loved nothing more than to grab his mountain bike and hit the trails with his brother. With an inquisitive mind, he started tinkering with bike parts and then pulling apart and rebuilding his Land Rover Discovery - ultimately combining his passion for adventure with the joyful challenge of mechanical engineering.
Ollie’s Adventure
The draw of the mountains and the dusty trails takes Ollie away from the cityscape most weekends. As someone who’s renowned for taking away more stuff than he needs, his Land Rover is set up to carry all his biking gear with extra roof space for those things you just can’t leave behind.
“I love mountain biking. You’re in deep, steep valleys with no signal. I don’t know what’s coming up or what’s over the horizon.”
“There’s a technical element of mountain bikes - if you like tinkering with things, mountain bikes offer that, and I think that’s where my engineering side developed.”
“I was told this early on that you’ll be able to spot a Pioneer Platform from a mile away which is funny because you see so many. There’s pride there because you work for a company that is so embedded in their community.”
ADVENTURE PHOTOGRAPHER
Meet Sean Scott
For years, Sean Scott's deep love for nature has driven him to capture the beauty of Australia and share it with others. From the barrel of a wave to the earthy hues of the outback’s red soil, photography has enabled Sean to convey the beauty he perceives in a way that makes people feel like they were truly part of the adventure.
Sean’s Adventure
His 79 Series has been set up as an off road support vehicle for his photography, allowing him to reach some of the most remote areas of Australia and capture the vast landscapes through his lens.
“I might go chasing one thing and end up with something completely different - but the key is to be in the right place at the right time to capture that moment. It opens your eyes to all the beautiful things that are around you.”
“I’ve done about 7 laps of Australia and there’s nothing better than being able to get out and work and live in some of the most remote places you can find.”
“I get inspired when I hear people recognise my photographs and they say it feels like it takes them to that place - almost as if they’re seeing it themselves. That’s why I share the things I see.”
SURFER, ARTIST & TEACHER.
Meet Cassie Salomon
Meet Cassie Salomon, a thrill-seeking surfer and adventure enthusiast hailing from the sunny Gold Coast of Australia. Whether it's riding the waves or embarking on adventurous surfing trips, she’s all about living life to the fullest.
Cassie's Adventure
In the world of surfing, numerous variables constantly shift beyond anyone’s control – be it the swell, the wind, the crowds, or even one's own energy levels. For Cassie, the ocean will always humble her.
“We grew up going camping as a family, my brothers and Dad would be the ones who set up the camp site. I would love going camping but never had to learn how to do anything myself.”
“Little did I know that even the best surfers have bad surf days when they fall, and they fail. It’s all about the learning process. Every time you fall and fail, you are learning something new.”
“I can easily put the surfboards up and any other gear that I need to take down with me, and I will be on my way.”
FAMILY ADVENTURERS
Meet Finch Touring
Nick and Emily grew up camping. Now it is part of their own story, with their kids. For Nick and Emily, enabling their kids to experience the outdoors, while bringing people together through campsite cooking, is what it’s all about.
Finch Touring's Adventure
It’s not always easy to get going with kids in tow. Nick and Emily enjoy a weekend of cooking, riding, and fishing - made easier thanks to their 200 Series with Pioneer 6 platform to carry everything from rods, to luggage, and water.
“The parts we take the kids to might not be the most popular spots, but they always learn something.”
“For us, the camp cooking is as big of a part as the actual adventure. It brings people together.”
“If we come back and say to the kids what was your favourite part about the weekend, and they can tell us something - that makes us pretty happy.”
BACKCOUNTRY SKIER
Meet Jack Arthur
Jack’s story is one of conquering mountains - the physical and metaphorical kind. After being rendered almost a quadriplegic in a skiing accident, Jack adjusted his idea of extreme and sought out the thrills of snow as a source of joy rather than a career.
Jack's Adventure
Jack hunts down the last Victorian snow during an overnight hike in the mountains of Victoria. His trusty Land Rover Defender carries him and his gear as high as it can - but it’s a long hike to find the last of the snow.
“Skiing gives me an adrenaline rush, taking small steps at the beginning and working up to find where my boundary is.”
“No matter if it’s super steep, or not steep at all. Lots of snow, or in this case no snow at all. It’s still a great activity to get out and be in the mountains.”
“Skiing reminds you how small you are, the mountain doesn’t really care if you make it back or not, which is nice because a lot of things in life aren’t like that.”
CAMPING & ADVENTURE PARENTS
Meet Dan & Amanda
Dan is a professional supercross rider turned stuntman. Amanda is a well-known model. They were well accustomed to a fast-paced, adrenaline-fuelled life - but when starting a family, it was time to slow down. Weekends away camping have allowed them to find a balance between adventure, family, and feeling alive.
Dan & Amanda's Adventure
Set up for a night away with Dan, Amanda, and their one-year-old. With a well-equipped Jeep Gladiator, Dan and Amanda can be packed and ready to go with their babies in a matter of minutes. Their easy to use setup allows them to stay in touch with their adventurous identities, even as parents.
